SpamapS.org Tux the Linux Penguin
UPDATE: 2008 - This information is very out of date. I'm leaving it here for posterity, but if you need these features, they're probably available in other sources. Also, my opinion of XFS has dropped considerably. Ext3 just works better, and if you need to put 32,000+ directories in a directory, I suggest you revisit your design!.

GXI - Grsecurity, XFS, and IPSec (FreeS/WAN)

Ok so I needed to get the Linux kernel with XFS and IPSec support (through Super FreeS/WAN. running on my home server/router box. This is usually not a problem, but I also decided that I wanted GRSecurity. The Grsecurity patch is fairly extensive, and collides on several levels with XFS and FreeS/WAN.

And so, i decided to just merge the patch myself. While I do have plans to do this merging in the future, please don't rely on me to get the merging done quickly. Some notes:

PatchVersion
XFS1.3.1
Super FreeS/WAN1.96*
GRSecurity1.9.13

Download: linux-2.4.23-grsec-xfs-ipsec.patch.bz2

As of this writing (December 8, 2003), I've been running this kernel on my moderately loaded server for 4 days without any problems. If you want to monitor the uptime, just checkout the status page.

* 1.96 was used because that is the same version as the userspace FreeS/WAN tools in Debian Woody.
